The Security Operations Center (GSOC) Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for the operational leadership of the Security Operations Center. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring company security systems, communicating with Security Officers and Specialists in the field, and relaying calls for service to the appropriate agencies or units. The SOC Assistant Supervisor ensures that all operations are conducted in line with established policy and procedure.
The Security Operations Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. GSOC Assistant Supervisors are expected to be available to work all shifts including holidays and weekends if needed.
GSOC Assistant Supervisor report to the GSOC Supervisor and serve as a member of the Security Operations Center team. This position supports the needs and activities of the company, supervisors/managers, and other personnel. GSOC Assistant Supervisor must also be able to maintain a friendly and helpful attitude while working with fellow employees, contractors, and clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibility of this position is to perform several duties pertaining to the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Center.
- Provide leadership to Security Operations Center Operators.
- Provide security monitoring and incident response of security events in a highly available Security Operation Center that supports internal and external customers.
- Monitor and analyze Security Information and Event Management alerts to identify security issues for remediation and investigate events and incidents.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to improve operator skill sets and ensure delivery of high-quality work.
- Ensure accountability and punctuality of security operators.
- Investigate, document, and report on information security issues and emerging trends.
- Classifies the nature and determines the priority of calls.
- Generates alarm reports.
- Keeps and maintains accurate records.
- Monitors internal and external security systems.
- Assists emergency service units in the field by securing and verifying information through computers, department files, records, and other available sources of data.
- Operates two-way radio to relay instructions or information to remote units.
- Operates recorders, video monitoring displays, computer-aided dispatching equipment/software, and other dispatch-related equipment.
- May perform the duties of a superior in the absence of this person and with an appointment from the management team.
- Be confident and make decisions rapidly, accurately, and often with very little information.
- Participate and provide valuable input at daily briefings.
- Ability to handle multiple emergency situations.
- Work areas are shared. Operators must keep the area clear and free of clutter.
- Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of experience in public emergency service field/agency (police, fire, ambulance dispatch), private security, armed forces, IT, or another related field preferred.
- Associate's degree or Certification in IT, Cyber Security, Criminal Justice, or another related field preferred.

You must also display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as you will interact with a variety of personnel and staff.

The minimum requirements to become a Security Operations Center Lead are as follows:
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Able to provide proof that you are eligible to work in the US.
- Must have a valid driver's license or state ID.
- Speak, read, and write English. (Spanish preferred)
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
