We are seeking a
proactive and innovative Group Sales Manager to lead our
group sales activities, ensuring a seamless experience at La Bahia Hotel & Spa.
Position Summary: The
Group Sales Manager will be responsible for soliciting and selling meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions while maximizing revenue opportunities across
room blocks, event spaces, food & beverage and all hotel ancillary spend opportunities. This individual will work closely with the
Director of Sales & Marketing to develop and execute
strategic sales initiatives and partnerships to position
La Bahia Hotel & Spa as the Monterey Bay destination for meetings and events.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:- Responsible for achieving quarterly/annual group sales revenue goals
- Accountable for proactively soliciting potential new accounts and lead opportunities by utilizing Knowland, Cvent, Amadeus, Opera and general market prospecting
- Develop and implement sales activities within market segment to achieve budgeted goal
- Win the site visit
- Maintain existing accounts and develop additional opportunities within existing accounts
- Follow-up on assigned sales leads in a timely manner
- Daily business review: presentation, participation and collaboration with team
- Possess key knowledge of the overall market, competitor's strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand
- Maintain good relations with counterparts at competing hotels
- Build and maintain rapport with customers throughout the sales process, effectively present hotel benefits and features based on customer needs
- Proficient in Amadeus and able to manage sales funnel
- Identify feeder markets for all segments of the business with integrated action plans.
- Persuasive communication and presentation skills
- Tarvel and trade show attendance is a requirement including pre & post trip reporting
- Anticipate and respond to all customer needs within a timely manner
- Live the brand and be an ambassador of the brand internally and externally
- Interpersonal Communication Skills - Easily makes connections and builds relationships; maintains poise and an engaging, empathetic communication style based on natural warmth and enthusiasm; possesses a sincere appreciation for people and how they are each uniquely motivated; skilled in successful influence and persuasion of others by understanding how their individual needs and motivations link to hotels success.

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements - 2-3years Group Sales experience
- Dynamic and entrepreneurial - be able to lead team to success by leading by example.
- Undergraduate degree Preferred
- Strong business acumen, ability to understand and apply yield and revenue techniques
- Strong leadership skills; a natural motivator
- Strong management reporting skills
- Strong Communication Skills (written, verbal and formal presentation style)
- Speaks English Fluently.
