Job Title: Part-Time or Full-Time Group Fitness Instructor at Plymouth Creek Athletic Club/Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West Hotel - (Hourly/Class Pay Based on Experience).
Job Summary: We are looking to hire an experienced versatile independent group fitness instructor to teach group fitness to all levels with an emphasis on senior population (Silver Sneakers). The instructor's responsibilities include creating fun and do-able workouts to train mobility, strength, balance, and cardiovascular endurance.
To be successful as a group fitness instructor, you should demonstrate patience and enthusiasm and be able to motivate participants to improve their physical and mental health. Ultimately, an exceptional group instructor should be able to communicate effectively with participants and ensure that all safety rules are adhered to.
Group Instructor Responsibilities: - Conducting group classes of up to 20 participants.
- Teaching various techniques, exercises, and safety rules to participants with varying physical abilities.
- Assisting more experienced participants to enhance their abilities.
- Assessing the progress of regular participants and adjusting teaching programs accordingly.
- Monitoring participants to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Implementing ground rules for each class session.
- Planning lessons that take into account participants abilities and progressive development.
- Identifying incorrect techniques and correcting participants accordingly.
- Ability to exercise and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
Group Instructor Requirements: - General Liability Insurance.
- Certification as a group fitness Instructor.
- Silver Sneakers certification is a bonus
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience working as a group instructor.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Completion of W-9 Form.
- Sound knowledge of proper exercise techniques and safety rules.
- Strong fitness abilities.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Passionate and enthusiastic.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
