SUMMARY: Grill Cooks are responsible for grilling, preparing, and cooking food to order according to The Patio's menu specifications. They focus primarily on cooking items on the grill, ensuring they are cooked to the highest quality and consistent standards. Grill Cooks must adhere to sanitation guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Primary Responsibilities - Ensure the grill station is set up, stocked, and ready for service.
- Prepare and cook various food items by grilling, including meats, vegetables, and other menu items according to recipes and specifications.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is grilled to perfection and served at the correct temperature.
- Report directly to the Executive Chef and follow instructions to meet menu and service standards.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization at the grill station and throughout the kitchen.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in food preparation, cooking, and storage.
- Clean grill area, prep surfaces, and handle leftovers in accordance with food safety practices.
- Stock the grill station with necessary inventory and supplies.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation.
Requirements
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid Food Handler's Certification as required by Illinois Food Safety Regulations
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written)
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices
- Positive personality and professional appearance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must comply with all food safety procedures
Preferred:
Previous Grill Cook experience preferred but not required.
