Job Duties & Responsibilities
Take grilled food orders from waiters.
Label food items appropriately
Season and prepare food items for grilling
Discard any expired or near expiry food items
Manage inventory of food supplies
Arrange prepared food items in an aesthetic manner
Manage portions of grilled food items and garnish them
Check and recheck equipment temperature to ensure accuracy of order
Regulate temperature of broilers, grills, and roasters
Maintain work area by cleaning and sanitizing constantly
Wash, cut and peel meats and vegetables prior to preparing them for cooking
Clean and sanitize grilling and broiling equipment after use
Evaluate food items before serving
Receive raw food items from suppliers
Ensure preventative and general maintenance of grilling equipment
Make sure that food items are appropriately thawed before using
Ensure that all supplied items are of excellent quality and accurate quantity
Grill requested food items in accordance with customers' specifications and preset recipe
Ensure refrigeration and rotation of food items
Cool food items to standard temperatures before serving

Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Basic understanding of or ability to learn sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
Basic understanding of or ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
Must be able to work quickly and efficiently.
Must be able to work well as part of a team.
Must be able to work well under pressure.
Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.

Education and Experience:
High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics, such as food safety, preferred.
One year of related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
