Job Description: Graphics Programmer at Cloud Imperium Games

About the Role: As a Graphics Programmer, you will advance our rendering technology to support a vast sandbox universe, from simulating interstellar phenomena to rendering detailed human hairs. You will also develop core rendering tech aiming for photoreal visuals, including physically based lighting, eye and lens effects, shader compilation, content streaming, and multi-threaded architecture, utilizing the latest PC hardware and APIs.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Research and implement new graphics technologies and tools.
  • Analyze and improve existing graphics systems.
  • Support and advise other developers on graphics features, debugging issues.
  • Profile and optimize the rendering pipeline, including lighting and shading.
  • Stay updated on latest graphics techniques and tools to inform development planning.

Candidate Expectations:

  • Proficiency in C within a large codebase, experience with shader languages and modern graphics APIs.
  • Strong understanding of 3D rendering, math, and optimization.
  • Excellent debugging skills for complex issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate technical info effectively.
