This position is responsible for creating high-quality designs and graphics for traditional and digital platforms.
Responsibilities and Duties ( Essential Functions)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.
Creates designs and produces digital layouts for logos, illustrations, and marketing collateral materials including but not limited to brochures, flyers, posters, invitations, event programs, banners, signs, tradeshow displays, and electronic graphics for website, email, and social media
Works closely with the Brand Identity and Design Manager to establish and maintain appropriate, accurate, and consistent visual representation of the college brand to the public
Works closely with the Communications & Marketing team to convey appropriate, accurate, and consistent messaging on all visual assets
Participates in meetings with Marketing Director and Project Managers to discuss project objectives and specifications with clients
Operates large format printers and manually assembles signs, display materials, and stage props
Photographs faculty, staff, students, and college events as needed for collateral materials or public relations
Meets with clients to discuss needs, project objectives, and timelines
Provides training guidance to faculty and staff in the proper use of branded marketing templates
Monitors production supplies and reports needs to the Brand Identity and Design Manager
Maintains archival records of design files and photographs
Coordinates printing, delivery, and distribution of collateral materials
Updates project reports including logging and closing out tasks
Acts as an ambassador for Wake Tech Community College when participating in professional development and networking opportunities outside of the college
Completes professional development training to keep skills up-to-date and keep up with latest industry trends
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud including but not limited to InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Light Room. After Effects and Premiere are a plus.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs
Able to manage multiple assignments effectively and accurately
Able to communicate print needs with in-house print shop manager and outside vendors
Able to work on site
Good understanding of offset and digital printing, and typography
Strong skills in professional writing and proofreading
Ability to present ideas and give progress reports to stakeholders
Ability to use reference materials, manuals, and style guides
Ability to represent the college in a professional manner
Ability to work within budgetary and deadline constraints
Ability to compare data from variety of sources to ensure accuracy and completeness
Possesses knowledge of Web Design and CMS
Skilled in digital photography
Ability to crouch, bend, climb and lift up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Requirements:Associate degree in Graphic Design or related field
Three years of advertising graphic design experience including demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite programs such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Valid Driver's license and approval required by the College's liability insurance carrier
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed for special events
Preferences:Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field
