Job Description:
Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Binghamton University's Division of Communications and Marketing is seeking a Graphic Designer to create compelling, on-brand visual assets across print and digital platforms, including web, email, social media, video displays, and merchandise. The role involves managing multiple design projects, collaborating with creative and marketing teams, and contributing to brand consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Design compelling, on-brand visual marketing assets for diverse channels, including web, email, video displays, social media, paid media, environmental graphics, and merchandise, with a strong focus on print.
- Familiarity with the printing process, including type specifications, ink and stock selection, and final layout preparation.
- Work closely with team members, including creative and art directors, marketers, copywriters, and multimedia producers, to craft innovative solutions that boost engagement and communication.
- Engage in collaborative reviews of brand conventions, providing insights and recommendations for improvement based on your experience as a brand guide user.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery without sacrificing quality.
- Stay up to date with design trends and best practices to keep brand assets fresh and modern.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Graphic Design, Web Design, User Experience, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in graphic design
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects
Preferred:
- Experience with UX principles
- Experience with accessibility standards and usability best practices
- Experience in higher education
