Position Description We are looking for a skilled Graphic Designer who understands the importance of visual communication and brand consistency. You think strategically when addressing design challenges, advocating for high-quality and accessible design solutions. You drive the creation of digital and print materials, collaborating with stakeholders to meet organizational goals. You are comfortable discussing design concepts with team members, ensuring all work aligns with brand guidelines and accessibility standards. Design systems, visual patterns, and meticulous documentation are integral to your daily practices.
Essential Duties: - Digital Design: Create visually compelling assets, include website graphics, infographics, online advertisements, social media content, etc.
- Print Design: Develop high-quality printed materials such as brochures, posters, flyers, maps, and reports.
- Accessibility: Implement accessibility best practices in all design work. Accessibility isn't just for websites.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the stakeholders, designers, marketing, and others to deliver cohesive and effective design solutions.
- Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Feedback and Revisions: Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and make necessary revisions to designs.
- Innovation: Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve design quality and efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Communications Design or related discipline. ( Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis OR related graduate level education may be
substituted for experience on a year per year basis )
Experience: 3 years of experience in graphic design or related activities. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Competencies: - Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Designing a variety of digital and print project types (social media, posters, reports, infographics, marketing materials, etc.)
- Experience preparing files for print production, including writing print specifications
- Managing the print production process
- Organizing and maintaining digital project files
- Solid understanding of visual design principles and best practices
- Strong prioritization, planning and time management skills
- Experience with Confluence, SharePoint, or other collaboration platforms
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: - Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
- Sitting - prolonged periods of time
- Standing-prolonged periods of time
- Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
