Koniag Management Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Grants Applications Specialist to provide grant services across various federal programs for our HHS client located in Washington, DC. The Grants Application Specialist will support the panel review process for federal customers by conducting grant eligibility screenings, providing communications, and generating reports related to paneling. Primary Functions & Responsibilities The Grants Application Specialist will: Conduct grant eligibility screenings against stated eligibility criteria. Draft and transmit applicant communications. Transmit reviewer communications: selection, assignment, non-selection, honoraria. Gather and analyze data to support grant applications. Coordinate with internal teams to collect necessary information. Ensure compliance with grant requirements and guidelines. Create progress reports and tracking metrics. Support post-award administration activities. Position Requirements Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Business, Public Administration, or related field and 2-5 years of experience. Experience may be used in lieu of education. Experience / Skills / Competencies: Two or more years of experience with federal grants management and competitive grant processes. Experience supporting federal competition grant reviews, including virtual webinars and meetings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write training or technical reports for various audiences. Solid organizational and interpersonal skills. Relevant federal government grant management experience. Ability to participate in regular check-ins, escalates to manager as needed and comes with solutions. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess project complexities, manage tasks through project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana), and proactively provide solutions. Analytical Problem Solver: Accurately assesses complexities and dependencies in projects and activities, manages projects to completion through project management tools and regular check-ins with supervisor and team, escalates to supervisor as needed and comes with solutions. Communication and Presentation: Demonstrated proficiency to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and produce high-quality written products such as memoranda, presentations, and correspondence. Proven record for providing project analysis, preparation of recommendation documents, and presentation to senior level decision makers. Familiarity with the structure of Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs), previously Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) and standard forms of federal grants. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Exceptional writing and editing skills. Strong research and analytical abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to accurately assess complexities and dependencies in projects and activities, manage projects to completion through the project. Knowledge of grant application processes and requirements. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong project management skills. Good to Have: Master's degree in a related field. Experience with government contracting. Knowledge of federal funding regulations, staying updated on changes in grant regulations and policies. Certification in grants management. Experience working with or knowledge of Head Start, childcare, early childhood education, or other educational programs is preferred. Grants Know-How: Experience with federal grants management and application, as well as large-scale federal competitive grant processes and electronic federal grants systems, such as GrantSolutions, is preferred.
