DescriptionDevelop and execute annual grant funding goals:
- Be familiar with the Community Guidance Center's financial needs, the yearly strategic plan and new development efforts through contact with the administration, employees and department supervisors.
- Attend trainings that offer information on non-profits, grant writing, and others that are pertinent.
- Once a need has been identified, research grant/donation opportunities through computer research, mailings from fundraising organizations and other human service agencies.
- Gather information on financial need and write a grant/request funding based on funding source requirements and need. Work closely with department requesting funding.
- Proactively identify any opportunities for grant funding.
- Responsible for coordination, implementation and oversight of day-to-day grant requirements.
In coordination with financial staff, responsible for any reporting back to funders.
Adhere to seven recognized Sanctuary commitments which includes social responsibility, social learning, non-violence, open communication, democracy, emotional intelligence, growth and change.
All other duties to be completed as assigned.
Position RequirementsBachelor's degree with major course work in English, Communication, Journalism, Marketing or similar related field
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to understand the needs of both the Center in need of funding and the organization that is offering the grant money
Above average research and organizational skills
Above average computer skills
Excellent written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
Act 33, 34 and FBI Clearances
Prior Grant Writing experience
