LHH is partnering with a non-profit organization in lower Manhattan on this Grant Accountant role. We are looking for a candidate with prior experience in the non-profit sector and strong Excel skills. This position is an ongoing temporary role that offers a flexible hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for programs.
- Reconcile various grants, including regular billings and reconciliation of the general ledger.
- Prepare new budget proposals, monthly budget-to-actual analysis, and monthly billing reports.
- Prepare and submit budget modification requests as needed, monitoring variances.
- Prepare program financial statements as required by either funding sources or program management.
- Record general ledger entries (salaries, revenue, bank reconciliation).
- Prepare year-end reports for the annual audit.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 1+ years of accounting experience with a non-profit organization.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation: $35 - $42/hr, depending on experience.
