Job SummaryThe Graduate School is seeking a creative and detail-oriented full (20 hours/week) Graduate Assistant to serve as a Marketing & Communications Specialist for the Fall 2025/Spring 2026 semesters and will include a stipend plus tuition. This role is responsible for designing and creating a variety of marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, digital content, invitations, email campaigns, website graphics and other promotional materials. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop) and/or Canva, and will assist with branding and design work as assigned. This role is also responsible for various communications and PR activities, as well as developing and executing the social media plan.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and create graphics for social media and various marketing materials using Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
- Assist with branding and design projects.
- Provide support for event promotion and special events.
- Write and edit copy for web content and marketing materials.
- Contribute to website reviews and updates, ensuring information is current and accurate.
- Regularly update and monitor content on the Graduate School website.
- Maintain and update the Academic Exploration Tool (AET).
- Standardize website pages, proofread copy, and perform routine website maintenance.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to organizational brand guidelines.
- Review and proofread various communications materials, including marketing emails, reports, and web content.
- Research trends in higher education institutions' graduate schools to maintain relevant content and share with team to maintain relevant content.
- Assist with compiling and designing the e-newsletter, proofreading and editing email publications, and analyzing digital communications data.
- Serve as a marketing liaison to graduate student stakeholders, assisting with focus groups and surveys.
- Develop communication and marketing plans to promote awareness of programs, events, and resources.
- Coordinate the deployment of communications.
- Explore ways to expand reach and tailor content to diverse audiences the Graduate School serves.
- Assist with consulting the Martin and Patterson Schools on branding and promotions.
- Provide support for event promotion and special events or recruitment activities, including promotional item development.
