Duties As a Government Information Specialist (Privacy), GS-0306-11, your typical work assignments may include: Maintain and coordinate the operational process for Privacy compliance documentation at program office under the direction of the Branch Chief of Privacy. Providing administration of Privacy analyses comprising of Privacy Threshold Analysis (PTA) and associated Privacy policies. Monitors compliance with all applicable Federal Privacy laws and regulations pertaining to biometrics and identity management; implements corrective, remedial, and preventive actions. Ensures that the use of technology sustains and does not erode privacy protections relating to the use, collection, and disclosure of personal information. Supports the efforts to ensure that sound privacy and information sharing safeguards and policies are in place. Qualifications GS-11 Level: You may qualify at this grade level by meeting one (1) of the following below: Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in federal service (GS-9) or public or private sector equivalent experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as: Facilitating the editorial process centered on document management deadlines, content management, and workflow and approval processes related to Privacy Threshold Analyses (PTAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs). Working familiarity with biometrics (such as fingerprint, face, iris, and DNA) and identity management as they relate to privacy issues and problems. Ability to research, understand, analyze, and handle sensitive, classified and complex data, as well as highly sensitive policy and privacy issues to conduct analysis and make pertinent privacy determinations. NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. - OR- Substitution of Education for Experience: You may substitute education for experience at this grade level by possessing one of following: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related -OR- A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. You may qualify at this grade level if you have a combination of education and experience (i.e. 6 months specialized experience and over 36 graduate level credits). NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first two years may be used to qualify for the GS-11 level.
