LightFeather is seeking a Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure. You'll play a pivotal role in automation, security, networking, and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), helping drive cloud optimization efforts in a high-security federal environment. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence infrastructure strategy, automation frameworks, and multi-cloud integration for government systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Infrastructure Engineering - Design and manage scalable, secure, and resilient GCP environments for enterprise applications
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Develop and maintain automated provisioning pipelines using Terraform, Packer, and Jenkins
  • Cloud Security and Compliance - Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption, and GCP Security Command Center to meet federal security standards
  • Networking and Connectivity - Configure and troubleshoot Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, firewalls, load balancers, and hybrid networking
  • CI/CD and DevOps Integration - Enhance deployment pipelines using GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Terraform
  • Cloud Cost Optimization - Monitor usage and reduce costs using tools such as Harness Cloud Costs and Stackdriver
  • Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Operations - Enable seamless integration across GCP, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure
  • Incident Response and Troubleshooting - Diagnose and resolve cloud infrastructure issues to ensure system availability
  • Server Automation and Configuration Management - Automate system tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and configuration scripts
  • Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to align cloud strategies with business needs
Required Qualifications
  • United States citizenship
  • Active Secret/Top Secret security clearance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, systems administration, or DevOps with a focus on GCP
  • Preferred certification: Google Cloud Fundamentals - Core Infrastructure or equivalent
  • Expertise in Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub, and Azure DevOps
  • Strong understanding of GCP IAM, encryption, monitoring, and compliance standards
  • Experience with GCP networking components including VPCs, load balancing, and VPNs
  • Familiarity with cross-cloud integrations in AWS and Azure
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, and configuration formats like JSON and YAML
Preferred Experience
  • Serverless computing, Kubernetes (Google Kubernetes Engine), and container orchestration
  • Familiarity with GCP Anthos, Cloud Functions, and App Engine
  • Experience with incident response, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures
