Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Linux Web Applications Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in supporting and administering Linux web applications, as well as utilizing coding skills in Python to interact with web applications. This role requires experience with user authentication/authorization management methods and a solid background in integrating software using REST APIs. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Linux systems and experience with cloud-based storage and enterprise identity management systems.
Key Responsibilities: - Support and administer Linux web applications with distributed administration.
- Utilize Python and Python Software Development Kit (SDK) to interact with web applications.
- Support applications that leverage user authentication/authorization management methods for secure server connections.
- Automate workflows and integrate software using REST APIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless software integrations and workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Linux-based applications and systems.
Required Qualifications: - 5+ years of professional experience in supporting and administering Linux web applications with distributed administration.
- Proficiency in Python and experience using the Python Software Development Kit (SDK) to interact with web applications.
- Experience supporting applications that use user authentication/authorization management methods for secure server connections.
- Professional experience in software development, scripting, or automating workflows using REST APIs for software integrations.
Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with protocols used to access network-attached storage systems such as POSIX and Amazon S3.
- Experience supporting applications using enterprise Identity Management systems such as Globus/CILogon, UW NetID/SAML/Shibboleth/OIDC, Active Directory/Entra ID.
- Experience with cloud networking, storage, and user/group management for systems such as Azure Blob Storage and Google Cloud Storage.
- Experience with collaboration platform storage such as Google Drive and Box.
- Experience with ITIL-based IT service management.
Certifications (if any): Relevant certifications in Linux administration, cloud computing, or enterprise identity management are a plus.
