The Global Service Technician will work in the field troubleshooting highly advanced systems used in the Medical industry. In this role you spend 30-40% of your time traveling to customers, with the rest of your time spent interacting with the operations team, building new products, and completing repairs and upgrades for the systems.

In recent years, they have expanded their portfolio to include other surgical solutions, broadening their impact on various medical specialties.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Global Service Technician include, but are not limited to:


  • Installation and Configuration: Responsible for installing, configuring, and testing fiber-optic networks and related equipment.

  • Maintenance and Diagnostics: Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on optical laser systems to maintain peak performance.

  • On-Site Support: Provide field service at customer locations, performing installations, inspections, repairs, and system upgrades.

  • System Enhancements: Carry out hardware and software upgrades for optical networking systems, ensuring smooth integration and performance optimization within existing infrastructures.

  • Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer support by addressing concerns, explaining system features, and ensuring client satisfaction. Offer post-installation assistance and training as needed.

  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to industry standards and safety protocols during all work activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Technical Knowledge: Stay informed about advancements in optical networking technology and best practices by engaging in continuous learning and professional development.


Profile

The successful Global Service Technician will have the following qualifications:

  • Education: An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Certifications in fiber optics (e.g., CFOT, FOA) is preferred.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience in installing, troubleshooting, and servicing optical networks.
  • Familiarity with network management systems (NMS) and remote monitoring tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with customers.
