Position Brand Description:
The Global Packaging and Robotics Organization, part of Corporate Engineering and Continuous Improvement, delivers new and renovated capital assets around the world. Our mission to support Lilly commercial packaging and robotics globally is accomplished through a staff of internal Lilly technical experts as well as a leveraged organization of design, construction and qualification contractors and consultants. Many of the assets delivered focus on medical innovation and delivering innovative solutions to patients. Some of the assets delivered will support an expansion in supply of existing medicines or making the supply chain more robust.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Project Management: Lead and manage large capital projects or global programs ($10 MM to $100+MM) working across Lilly global robotics personnel, Lilly global facilities personnel, Lilly site personnel and Lilly external partners to drive project delivery outcomes safely, effectively, and efficiently.
Project Cost and Execution: Accountable for developing the project delivery strategy which may include creating cost estimates, scenario building, cash flow projections, driving the funding process, driving schedule creation from scope to delivery, mitigation of critical path encounters, ability to articulate and remediate cost and schedule impacts.
Compliance: Lead with a disciplined, structured approach to project management aligned with company policies, procedures, and requirements.
Health/Safety/Environment: Develop and maintain safety and environmental execution plans for projects. Ensure compliance to safety and environmental policies, procedures, and work rules for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors from conceptual design through operational qualification.
Interface/Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication with project teams, governance teams, business partners and other stakeholders as the size and complexity of the project may dictate. Willingness to coach and mentor to develop team members within Lilly Manufacturing and Quality.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Technology related area
- 10 years of previous experience in capital project delivery of facilities, ideally pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Previous experience on projects >$10+ million.
- Experience among the following disciplines: Manufacturing equipment fabrication, automation, construction, construction quality, commissioning, qualification, project controls, engineering disciplines, safety, scheduling.
- Willingness to relocate and/or travel to locations outside of home state/country.
- Availability to travel domestically or internationally as high as 75% during peak project delivery periods and to conduct periodic vendor audits

- Demonstrated willingness to embrace the concept of continuous improvement and be an agent for change.
- Ability to influence personnel and organizations without having direct administrative responsibility for them.
- Must exhibit a good sense of judgment in decision making, without the need for management approval while at the same time keeping management informed and engaged on critical issues.
- Demonstrated value for a disciplined, structured approach to project management that is based on compliance with Policies and Procedures rather than an approach dependent on a personal style.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work at long distances with little supervision.

- This is NOT a remote position as it requires on site presence. This role is based in Indianapolis, IN and would require full relocation to home base.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$94,500 - $195,800
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
