GitOps Engineer Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: None Type of Travel: None The Opportunity: Support the DoD as a GitOps Engineer on an Army Task Order that provides system administration, network administration, and database administration to support, maintain and operate an enclave of the Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN). This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days onsite at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. Responsibilities: Manage and maintain Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS) environments using Terraform, Argo CD, and related technologies
Focus on container orchestration, security groups, and networking with emphasis on scalability, automation, and infrastructure reliability
Provide support to customers and team members to solve challenging IT problems Qualifications: Required: Active DoD Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline (or 15 years of applicable experience with appropriate certifications)
IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+CE, SSCP)
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation
Deep understanding of Linux administration in AWS
Experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native AWS EKS solutions
Strong understanding of Kubernetes security, RBAC, pod security policies, and IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA)
Experience with GitOps workflows
Deep understanding of AWS services: EC2, IAM, VPC, ALB/NLB, Route53, S3, CloudWatch
Experience with containers and container runtimes
Proficient in providing Tier 2/3 support for cloud-related incidents and service requests
Experience enforcing compliance with data protection and privacy standards
Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Experience monitoring system performance and availability
Excellent understanding of DevSecOps best practices
Experience using project planning software (e.g., Jira, Jira Service Desk, Confluence)
Exceptional technical troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Effective writing skills for producing documentation Desired: Advanced degree
Automation skills using scripting (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Proficiency in container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Docker Compose)
Experience with identity management and directory services integration (ADFS, LDAP)
Single Sign-on Integration experience (SAML, OpenID)
Process improvement and efficiency identification skills
Strong knowledge of Agile work environments and development practices
Experience with Argo CD

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
