JOB SUMMARY Leverages advanced geospatial technologies to analyze, manages and visualizes complex spatial data, enabling data-driven decision-making and supporting a range of projects. This role demands proficiency in GIS software, spatial analysis and data management, as well as a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Additionally, this position will primarily focus on ArcFM Fiber Manager data input, requiring knowledge in telecom networking and fiber installation practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Utilizes ArcFM Fiber Manager to manage and maintain fiber network data, ensuring accurate representation of fiber installations and utility network infrastructure.
- Conducts analyses and generates reports using ArcFM Fiber Manager to support decision-making processes related to fiber network planning and optimization.
- Collaborates with engineers and field technicians to integrate fiber installation data into ArcFM Fiber Manager, ensuring seamless data flow and accurate network representation.
- Conducts sophisticated spatial analyses, including geoprocessing, network analysis and spatial modeling, to derive actionable insights from geospatial data.
- Designs, develops and maintains geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity, accuracy and efficiency. Creates and manages data schemas, relationships and metadata.
- Develops custom GIS applications and tools using Python to automate workflows, enhances GIS functionality and optimize data processing.
- Provides technical support to end-users, resolve GIS-related issues and offers training and guidance to ensure effective utilization of GIS tools and resources.

REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, GIS, or a related field or five or more years of related power utility GIS experience (in lieu of a Bachelor's degree).
- INTERMEDIATE LEVEL: Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in related area for an Intermediate level.
- SENIOR LEVEL: Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in related area for Senior level Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for geospatial application development and automation.
- Knowledge of telecom or utility networking practices
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python
- Strong understanding of geodatabase design, spatial data and coordinate systems.
- Ability to collect and enter data quickly, correctly, and efficiently.
- Knowledge in interpreting surveys, maps, fabrication drawings and equipment details.
- Demonstrates understanding of spatial data, algorithms, data integration and data conversion.
- Preferred knowledge of the Bulk Electric System and its components.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments to meet established deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and customer services skills.
