Programming Specialists have the opportunity to grow content efforts supporting the kids app internationally to aid in content discovery and promotion within one of the web's richest creative ecosystems. You'll serve as a programming voice representative, market research extraordinaire, and user behavior expert. Your expertise and interest in engaging kid's content allow you to identify localized content that meets the quality bar of the brand, shapes the voice of the product in local regions, and helps to grow a loyal consumer base. You possess strong quality standards and are apt to work effectively between technical and non technical roles.
As a Programming Specialist, you help shape the voice of the product for growing local regions and uncover content on the platform to aid in machine learning and content discovery. From content programming, review, discovery, naming and performance analysis, you're a part of the content team's tactical day to day, serving both creators and viewers as the customer. You'll drive content discovery around localized family entertainment and education channels, videos and themes. You'll work directly with programming and partner managers to leverage content and user behavior to create positive, engaging content experiences.
This is a vendor role with Highspring for a client's team, a Fortune 100 company. This position is currently remote.
Responsibilities:
- Perform market research to uncover the highest quality local content in your region(s)
- Review algorithmically suggested video content for programming voice and quality
- Use data to understand the audience and content landscape strengths and weaknesses
- Become an expert in our client's videos, channels, fandom, family viewing behavior, popular kids content and important learning and developmental content/platforms
- Become an expert with internal programming tools and reporting dashboards
- Store and share learnings for broad use by the larger content and product teams
Minimum Qualifications
- Native or professional fluency in one of the following languages: UK English, German, Japanese
- Experience working in family and/or children psychology, education industry
- Experience of working with kids content (curation, moderation etc)
- Passion for kids, learning, and the power of digital media to educate and empower change
- 2 years of relevant experience with a digital content or editorial brand
- Analytical experience with spreadsheet analysis, technology, and data management, data driven
- Excellent communication and visual presentation skills, with the ability to transition between detailed views and high level takeaways and adapt to the audience
- Experience in technology

- Weekday, M-F PST (9:00 am - 6:00 pm)

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure:
$55k - $60k Annual Salary. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
