Job Description: Agile Defense is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Developer to join our growing team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) Test, Evaluation, and Certification (TEC II) contract at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software solutions. You will play a key role in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment. You will also be expected to mentor junior developers and contribute to the overall improvement of our development processes. The selected candidate will join the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Test, Evaluation and Certification team supporting coordinated software development and imagery standards conformance analysis. Work to be performed on-site supporting a secure stand-alone test facility. Remote work is not possible. Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, reusable, and reliable code.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with other developers, designers, and product owners to deliver compelling user experiences.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
• Test data creation, creating various types of test data (valid, invalid, boundary conditions) to comprehensively test software functionality and performance.
• Mentor junior developers and share best practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues.
• Remain up to date with the latest technologies, standards, and industry trends.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development processes.
• Participate in architectural discussions and decisions.
• Proactively identify and address technical debt.
• Estimate effort and timelines for development tasks. Qualifications:
• This position requires an active Secret security clearance on hire date with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Current TS/SCI is desired.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java, C , C , and/or Python programming languages (excluding JavaScript).
• Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Quality oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel. Demonstrated expertise in using Excel for data analysis, manipulation, and reporting, including creating complex formulas, pivot tables, charts, and macros.
• Proficient in standardized requirements analysis. Demonstrated ability to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate within team of developers, stakeholders, and product owners. Required Qualifications:
• An active Secret security clearance on hire date with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Current TS/SCI is desired.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language, including experience with core libraries, object-oriented principles, and design patterns (JavaScript experience is not an equivalent substitute).
• Experience with Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation (RDT&E). T&E areas include developmental, operational, standards conformance, enterprise, and interoperability. Incorporates DoD and interoperability directives and instructions in all T&E processes.
• Experience in creating and generating large data sets and various data scenarios for performance and functionality.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience developing software for the GEOINT discipline with relevant experience with GEOINT data and software analysis products. Other intelligence disciplines with respective standards experience will be considered.
• Experience with data analysis tool design, development of data test sets and test suite updates, and verification and validation of software.
• Experience with using test data generation tools and scripting languages to automate the creation of diverse test data sets.
• Experience with Visual Studio 2019 or newer.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
• Strong understanding of testing principles and experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with GEOINT National Imagery Transmission Format (NITF). Other standards experience will be considered with respective intelligence discipline experience.
• Familiarity with GEOINT documentation and standards conformance testing.
• Familiarity with manned and unmanned Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance systems, sensors, and operations. Required Education, Training, and Experience (LCAT requirements): Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 4 years of professional software development experience; a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 6 years of professional software development experience; or an Associate's degree plus 8 years of professional software development experience. Requires at least 1 certification in area of specialization. Additional certifications in the area of specialization may be substituted for 1 year of experience. One year of experience can be substituted by 15 semester hours completed towards a Master's degree. The degree must be in a relevant technical curriculum and experience must be related to the job duties.
