Description Leidos National Security Sector is looking for a
Geospatial Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with both Leidos and government staff to support essential geospatial initiatives. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a team-oriented environment and possess strong collaboration skills. Candidates must have an active Top Secret/SCI with polygraph to be considered.
Primary Responsibilities The Geospatial Data Analyst will play a key role in addressing custom mapping requests through both printed and online portal formats. Responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple geospatial projects with minimal supervision.
- Working directly with customers to understand project requirements and offer insights for optimal visualization.
- Conducting research and producing thematic and reference maps to support the customer's finished intelligence.
- Supporting development teams with tasks including open-source data collection and utilizing ESRI-based web applications like Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online.
This role contributes to complex intelligence analysis that informs senior policymakers and national leadership.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Cartography, Computer Science, or a related field with demonstrated GIS training or coursework, along with 4 - 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's with 2 - 6 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- This position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph.
- Expertise in ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro software.
- Experience with ESRI web interfaces, including Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online.
- Strong understanding of geodatabases, including working with vector and raster datasets.
- Proficient in editing shapefiles and file geodatabases.
- Experience with various coordinate systems, map projections, and datums.
- Familiarity with standard cartographic methods and principles.
Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with Adobe software such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
- Knowledge of web scraping using current technologies, along with experience in Python or JavaScript scripting.
- Proficiency in parsing HTML and JSON data.
- Experience with QGIS.
- Able to code scripts to efficiently perform web data collection tasks.
- Research-oriented with skills in accessing open-source data through public APIs.
Pay Range: $63,700.00 - $115,150.00
