GIS Technician
Duration: Contract
Sesheng Company is partnering with an organization in Louisiana to enhance their Geographic Information Systems (GIS) capabilities. We are seeking skilled GIS Technicians to support the development and management of critical data, software, and applications.
Project Overview:
The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting GIS initiatives by working with various platforms, including ESRI, Safe Software, and VertiGIS. Responsibilities will include data management, editing, map creation, and providing support to other GIS team members.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize ESRI, Safe Software, VertiGIS, and potentially other GIS platforms to support the development and management of geospatial data.
- Contribute to the development and management of GIS software and applications.
- Perform data editing tasks, including:
- Attributes
- Geometric features
- Metadata (desirable).
- Conduct LRS Route and Event Editing (desirable).
- Engage in map creation and development (desirable).
- Provide essential support to GIS Program Managers, Specialists, Configuration Engineers, Data Architects, and Analysts as required.
- Assist with data quality control and assurance processes.
- Contribute to the maintenance and organization of GIS databases.
- Follow established GIS standards and procedures.
Mandatory Expertise/Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working with ESRI, Safe Software, VertiGIS, and other GIS platforms to support the development and management of data, software, and applications.
Desirable Expertise/Experience:
- Experience in data editing, including attributes, geometric features, and metadata.
- Experience with LRS (Linear Referencing System) Route and Event Editing.
- Experience in map creation and development.
- Proven ability to support GIS Program Managers, Specialists, Configuration Engineers, Data Architects, and Analysts effectively.
Required Skills:
- Strong technical skills in working with various GIS platforms.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
