£37,000 to £45,000 + Overtime

Neos Engineering are partnered with a market-leading generator company that operates nationwide, specialising in hire, sales, and installation of diesel generators. Due to continued growth and ongoing success, they re looking to appoint an experienced and driven Generator Engineer to join their high-performing team in Scotland.


The Role

As a Generator Engineer, you ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing, and installing a wide range of generators from 20kVA up to 1250kVA. This is a field-based role, covering Scotland, where you ll respond to breakdowns, complete routine services, and carry out site installations.


Responsibilities include:

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing diesel generators
  • Installation of generators on customer sites
  • Fault finding and diagnostics on control panels (including Deep Sea)
  • Attending breakdowns and conducting routine services
  • Liaising with internal teams including the Service Manager and other engineers
  • Participating in a 1-in-6 call-out rota and optional overtime


The Candidate

You ll have at least three years of hands-on experience working with diesel generators and be confident in fault-finding, diagnosing, and repairing electrical issues. Experience with a variety of generator brands and control systems is ideal.

Key skills & competencies include:

  • Proven experience working on diesel generators (20kVA 1250kVA)
  • Knowledge of generator control panels, ideally Deep Sea
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work independently and respond to reactive callouts
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Willingness to work overtime and take part in a call-out rota
