Position Summary: The General Warehouse Clerk is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse or storage facility. This includes pulling, checking, receiving, and shipping product orders using manual and powered material handling equipment. The role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and the ability to perform tasks in a dynamic warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Accurately pull and verify product orders for shipment to customers, branches, and franchisees
- Utilize warehouse management systems and software for order processing and tracking
- Manually complete paperwork when systems are down to ensure continuity of operations
- Receive all incoming freight deliveries in the presence of the delivery agent and inspect for shortages or damage
- Report any discrepancies or damages to the Supervisor, Distribution Center Manager, and the delivery agent
- Stock and rotate received inventory based on Supervisor direction and warehouse procedures
- Maintain adequate stock levels in pickable product locations
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts (must obtain and maintain certification)
- Properly maintain and safely operate all motorized warehouse equipment
- Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Participate in physical inventories and cycle counts
- Clean and maintain the warehouse to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
- Adhere to all warehouse regulations and procedures for shipping, receiving, and inventory control
- Perform other duties and take on additional assignments as needed to support team and business operations
Qualifications: Education: - High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience & Skills: - Prior warehouse or logistics experience preferred
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail in paperwork and inventory management
- Basic math skills for inventory and order fulfillment
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and tasks
- Familiarity with using phone systems and basic order entry systems
Physical & Environmental Requirements: - Ability to lift 50 lbs multiple times per day
- Ability to work at heights up to 36 feet using appropriate equipment
- Comfortable working in environments with temperature fluctuations
- Able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
