Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical General Superintendent to oversee large-scale construction and mechanical projects. This role is responsible for managing field operations, ensuring project success through effective leadership, scheduling, cost control, and quality management. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with deep industry expertise, a proven track record of success, and a passion for mentoring and developing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Operations:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop field teams at all trades and manpower levels.
  • Establish and implement master project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and project logistics.
  • Manage field prefabrication planning, CADD coordination, and installation schedules.
  • Ensure project milestones and completion dates are met while maintaining quality and safety.

Cost Management & Compliance:
  • Monitor and manage job costs, labor hours, and budgets weekly.
  • Ensure accurate cost coding, time card approvals, and financial reporting.
  • Conduct project closeout processes, including punch list completion and records archiving.

Quality & Safety Oversight:
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate jurisdictional inspections and maintain strong relationships with inspectors.
  • Promote and enforce company safety programs and OSHA compliance standards.

Team Development & Training:
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership for field teams.
  • Participate in company-sponsored training and leadership development programs.

Qualifications

Career Level: Principal General Superintendent
  • 15+ years of experience in mechanical construction or related fields.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects and diverse teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage complex client relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of skills and experience preferred.

Manager Level:
  • 10+ years of supervisory experience in large-scale mechanical projects.
  • Ability to make high-level decisions impacting key business areas.
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
