DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Comprehensive/General Neurologist to join our practice.


The Department is looking for a physician who is board certified or board eligible in Neurology. The physician will provide medical care in the outpatient setting. The position includes the ambulatory evaluation and management of diverse patients with neurological presentations or symptoms that are not designated to a specific subspecialty practice. Subspecialty support is available for those patients who ultimately are diagnosed with a subspecialty specific condition.


The Department currently comprises 37 Neurologists with fellowship-trained expertise in cerebrovascular disease, behavioral neurology, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and autoimmune neurology, neuromuscular disorders, epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, sleep medicine, autonomic disorders, headache, neuro-ophthalmology, palliative care, critical care, and neuro-oncology.


Candidates must have strong clinical skills and demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills and the capacity to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of consultants and support staff. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with previous education and research experience. The Department is very active in undergraduate and graduate medical education at the medical school, residency, and fellowship levels; the position will include contribution to the clinical educational mission of the Department.
