Job Title: Structural Steel Erection General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
The Structural Steel Erection General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of structural steel erection operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves managing teams, coordinating with project stakeholders, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The General Manager will lead the steel erection division, driving operational excellence while upholding values of safety, integrity, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan, direct, and oversee all structural steel erection activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and project execution.
  • Supervise and mentor project managers, foremen, and field crews, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with estimators, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate project scoping, bidding, and execution aligns with contractual requirements.
  • Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry standards for steel erection and rigging operations.
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
  • Manage the procurement, maintenance, and utilization of cranes, rigging equipment, and other tools essential to steel erection.
  • Ensure all steel structures meet design specifications, engineering standards, and client expectations through rigorous inspection processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, providing updates, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify potential project risks (e.g., weather, site conditions, or supply chain delays) and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support the company's growth by identifying new opportunities in steel erection services and contributing to strategic planning.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural steel erection or heavy construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale steel erection projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of steel construction techniques, AISC standards, and welding/fabrication processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
