Our exceptional waterside location, extensive facilities, and high-calibre events programme make us a leading venue for sailing at every level-from grassroots to international regattas.
The RoleAs
General Manager, you'll be the strategic and operational leader of the Club. You'll oversee all aspects of its day-to-day running-marine, events, food and beverage, facilities, finance and member services-ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience for members and guests alike.
Your responsibilities will include:- Providing clear leadership to a team of 20 permanent and 50+ seasonal staff
- Working closely with the Commodore and Committees to deliver the Club's strategic plan
- Driving revenue growth through proactive marketing and year-round commercial development
- Championing member engagement and service excellence across all areas
- Overseeing budgets, compliance, safety standards, and estate management
- Being a visible and approachable leader, especially during weekends and Club events
This is not a Monday-to-Friday desk job-weekend and evening work is essential.
What We're Looking ForYou'll be a confident, proactive and diplomatic leader with:
- Proven success in general management, ideally within sport, leisure, hospitality or marine settings
- Strong operational, financial and team leadership skills
- A hands-on approach with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Experience in service-focused environments with high member or guest expectations
- A track record of empowering teams and driving performance
Knowledge of sailing and the wider marine industry is a real bonus-whether personal or professional. You'll understand the rhythm of club life and the value of community.
