Position Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility, with a focus on Construction and Demolition processes. This role requires strong leadership in staffing, equipment functionality, and operational efficiency. The Division Manager ensures that all administrative, operational, and maintenance functions are executed effectively while prioritizing cost efficiency and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily facility operations, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high service quality.
- Lead and develop a team of supervisors and operational staff, ensuring proper staffing and adherence to company policies.
- Foster a strong culture of safety, accountability, and customer service excellence.
- Coordinate with internal departments and report division activities to the Regional Manager.
- Ensure facility maintenance and equipment functionality for uninterrupted operations.
- Submit timely and accurate operational reports as required.
- Manage relationships with staffing agencies, ensuring temporary employees meet performance and safety expectations.
- Recruit, train, and onboard new employees while ensuring compliance with HR policies.
- Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to secure cost-effective resources.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries or complaints promptly.
- Enforce disciplinary actions as necessary to maintain a productive work environment.
- Conduct ongoing training programs to enhance employee skills and development.
- Perform performance evaluations, set employee goals, and implement strategies for professional growth.
- Use coaching and mentoring techniques to improve team performance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 7 years of management experience in service, transportation, waste management, recycling, or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of Construction and Demolition operations, safety regulations, and environmental compliance.
- Proven leadership experience, including training, employee development, and performance management.
- Bilingual in Spanish is highly desirable for effective communication within a diverse workforce.
