Position Overview

The General Manager is a newly created, high-impact leadership position responsible for overseeing the full scope of Heyens Hospitality's venue operations in Texas. This includes direct oversight of our teams at The Addison Grove and Prospect House across venue sales, event execution, operations, bar service, administration, and property maintenance. The General Manager will directly manage a core team of approximately 5-7 Full time employees and 20-30 part-time event staff. This role reports directly to ownership and ensures all departments are aligned in pursuit of operational excellence, profitability, and luxury-level guest experiences.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & People Management
  • Lead and develop department heads across Venue Sales, Operations & Event Staff, Bar & Beverage, Administration, Property & Grounds.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

  • Manage staffing strategy, hiring, onboarding, training, employee development and performance evaluations of Texas Venue Team members.

Operational Oversight
  • Ensure day-to-day operations across all venues run efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with Heyens Hospitality brand standards.

  • Oversee event execution and site readiness for 200+ annual events, ensuring a high level of attention to detail and client satisfaction.

  • Collaborate closely with Venue Administration Manager to maintain clear internal workflows, timely follow-through, and proactive resolution of operational needs.

  • Manage and develop event staff, including Day-of Event Managers and Grounds Managers, with a focus on training, communication, and quality control.

  • Ensure event details are accurately relayed and executed by the onsite team, minimizing errors and maximizing client confidence.

  • Serve as the escalation point for onsite issues, responding quickly and appropriately to resolve problems and uphold service standards.

Venue Sales
  • Lead and support the venue sales team responsible for driving bookings across The Addison Grove and Prospect House.

  • Provide strategic guidance, ensure alignment with revenue goals, and hold team members accountable for lead follow-up and conversion.

  • Step in to conduct venue tours as needed to maintain sales momentum and ensure prospective clients receive a consistent, high-quality experience.

  • Partner with Marketing to align campaigns and messaging with sales objectives and seasonal booking priorities.

Client Experience
  • Oversee the Client Coordinators responsible for guiding clients through their wedding journey. Ensure clients receive timely, thoughtful communication and that service standards are upheld across all interactions.

  • Ensure coordinators are actively promoting in-house services such as bar packages, floral design, and rental upgrades to enhance the overall experience and increase revenue.

  • Continuously refine processes and touchpoints to elevate the client journey from booking to event day.

Bar & Beverage Program
  • Oversee bar operations, profitability, and compliance with Texas alcohol regulations.

  • Manage inventory systems, vendor relationships, and ordering to ensure accuracy and cost control.

  • Supervise bar staffing, training, and scheduling to support high-volume event weekends.

  • Collaborate on new offerings, including seasonal cocktails and upsell options, to enhance guest experience and drive revenue.

  • Ensure consistent execution, service quality, and risk management across all bar events.

Financial Management
  • Collaborate with ownership on budgeting, reporting, and financial goal setting.

  • Monitor labor efficiency, cost of goods, and departmental spending.

  • Oversee the administration of systems such as QuickBooks, Tripleseat, liquor tax filings, and payroll coordination.

Facility & Property Oversight
  • Partner with,and lead the Property & Grounds Manager to ensure all venues are maintained to brand standards-clean, safe, and visually elevated at all times.

  • Oversee landscaping, gardening, and exterior upkeep to preserve appeal for event and tour readiness.

  • Ensure all routine maintenance, safety checks, and inspections are completed on schedule.

  • Manage break-fix issues with a focus on timely, cost-effective solutions that minimize disruption.

  • Support capital improvement planning and execution to enhance long-term property value and client experience.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 7-10 years of hospitality or event operations experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior management role.

  • Proven success leading and managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

  • Deep understanding of luxury or high-touch event services, preferably in weddings or special events.

  • Financial acumen including P&L management, budgeting, and reporting.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to be onsite as needed for events, walkthroughs, or team support - including weekends.

  • Strong organizational and systems thinking; experience with tools like QuickBooks, Tripleseat, and G Suite preferred.
