Job Summary:

The Organix General Manager has the opportunity to develop and grow this unique and sustainable business from an established platform in Colorado into a nationwide footprint, becoming the national leader in organic turf management and gardening products. The General Manager will establish a regional, and then national, strategy, drive product development, develop sales and multi-channel marketing strategies, establish multiple-site production and distribution operations, and own full profit and loss responsibility. This role requires managing resources, fostering team engagement, and ensuring the efficient production of high-quality fertilizers and sustainable products, while aligning with customer, federal, and state expectations.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute all facets of the business strategy

Operations Management

  • Lead operations at Organix Morning Fresh, overseeing fertilizer and soil operations.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and manage procurement to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure compliance with product and testing standards.
  • Optimize production and business performance using KPIs for labor, efficiency, and resource management.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies for profitability.

Leadership and Employee Engagement

  • Lead with a strategic mindset.
  • Mentor leadership team to maximize P L results.
  • Engage employees at all levels to foster growth and passion.
  • Represent the company through community engagement.

Technical Expertise

  • Develop, optimize, and reformulate fertilizers.
  • Improve processes, formulations, and technology.
  • Provide technical support to teams and drive continuous operational improvement.

Stewardship

  • Manage natural resources sustainably and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Prioritize safety, security, and across operations.

Business Strategy and Development

  • Oversee operational budgets and meet financial targets.
  • Implement KPIs and strategies to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Relentless Pursuit of Improvement

  • Continuously drive improvements in processes, systems, and productivity to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Implement and promote a culture of continuous improvement across all operational teams and business units.

Community Engagement

  • Act as the public face of the company, fostering relationships with local leaders and promoting sustainability.

Other Duties as Assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 9-12 years of experience in operations management within the lawn and garden products, turf management fertilizer and soil amendments production, and/or agriculture agronomy.
  • In-depth understanding of both synthetic and organic fertilizers and soil amendments.
  • Experience in compost and soil production.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team toward achieving organizational goals.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to analyze financial and operational data to make informed decisions.
  • Experience managing complex situations through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, turf management, agronomy, ag business, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in finance, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with state regulatory requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, sit, talk, and hear.
  • Use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Capable of lifting or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Hand-eye coordination required for operating computers and office equipment.

Travel:

Willingness to travel as needed for site visits, equipment demonstrations, industry events, and leadership/training events.
