Position Title: General Manager, Branch Operations

Role Overview:
This is a salaried exempt, full-time position. The role is expected to be onsite at a major branch location and reports directly to the CEO.
The General Manager will oversee:
- Local branch and yard operations
- Regional sales and reload operations
- Manufacturing and remanufacturing services at affiliated locations
- Remote sales operations in multiple states across the Western U.S.
Performance Objectives:
- Improve branch gross profit margins.
- Grow branch sales
- Build a sales-driven culture; recruit and retain high-performing staff.
- Manage sales, purchasing, logistics, and administrative teams.
- Expand sales through affiliated manufacturing operations.
- Oversee construction of storage and fulfillment spaces along key corridors.
- Cultivate meaningful customer and supplier relationships.
- Integrate subsidiary business operations into branch functions.
- Communicate progress and key updates regularly to executive leadership.
Core Duties:
- Meet and exceed branch sales and gross margin goals.
- Recruit, hire, and manage personnel; terminate when necessary.
- Review sales pricing and quoting activity to manage margin risks and optimize revenues.
- Build product and service solutions to strengthen market competitiveness.
- Lead biweekly sales and operations meetings.
- Analyze business performance data to inform growth strategies.
- Cultivate new and existing customer and supplier relationships through site visits and outreach.
- Proactively monitor profitability, satisfaction, and loyalty of customer accounts.
- Collaborate with credit teams to resolve delinquent accounts and improve credit processes.
- Manage communication between dispatch, logistics, and sales teams to ensure timely deliveries.
- Prioritize workflow to meet customer demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Act as an ambassador at industry events to promote the company brand.
- Travel as needed to support regional growth efforts.
Desired Qualifications:
- Operates consistently with core principles and values.
- 15 years of management experience leading sales and operations teams.
- 15 years of success meeting and exceeding financial performance targets.
- Experience purchasing commodity lumber for multi-family construction projects.
- 10 years of direct sales experience to general contractors and framing companies.
- Existing industry relationships in the multi-family sector, a plus.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and critical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize urgent business needs with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong teams and foster collaboration.
- Growth-oriented mindset and strong work ethic.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, and web-based software systems.
- Bachelor's degree (4-year college degree) required.
