Job Overview: The General Counsel will deeply engage, communicate openly and foster close working relationships with our sales, finance and human resources teams to provide a broad range of legal counsel and advice. These will include, drafting and negotiating sales and vendor agreements. Maintain and update the contracting process. Working with Human Resources on employee compliance with all locations. The role is ideally suited for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced International SaaS based business with the ability to translate business concepts into sound legal advice.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including but not limited to customer, vendor, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with contract terms and ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Work with HR on employee related legal compliance.
- Oversee the contract lifecycle from initial drafting through execution and renewal
- Continuously seek to improve the contracting process and templates being used.
- Support with due diligence related contract review for future acquisitions.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of global and domestic contracting laws and practices for SaaS contracting
- Attention to detail, exceptional organization skills, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate and translate between legal issues and obtaining business goals.
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor degree from accredited law school
- Currently admitted to a state bar and eligible to practice law in Colorado
- 5 to 7 years of prior experience, preferably with a SaaS contracting
