General Administrative Support Macdill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL
The General Administrative Support assists the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands by serving within the manpower directorate task area. The position's primary mission involves assisting in the analysis of manpower requirements to support operations. Additionally, the manpower directorate helps to advise and assist the Commander in matters relating to personnel operations, management, policy, administration, awards, correspondence, travel management, the Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) Program, and administrative support to all Marines stationed at MacDill AFB as well as individual augments in the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). The General Administrative Support directly supports services for MARCENT's G-1 section, including administrative support in relation to legal, general, and personnel issues to ensure the efficient execution of MARCENT OAMS tasks both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). The General Administrative Support will perform the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide general administration support services to MARCENT's G-1 section.
- Provide administration of correspondence development, awards, and records management services compliant with USMC and Joint processes and policies. The provided services must include administrative support in matters related to legal, general, and personnel administration and in the appropriate disposition of congressional level inquiries.
EDUCATION - HS diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE - Minimum ten years of military experience.
- Experience in providing general administrative support, including handling correspondence, awards, and records management in a military or government setting.
- Experience supporting legal and personnel administration matters, including managing sensitive documents and inquiries.
- Experience in developing and managing correspondence and records, ensuring compliance with relevant processes and policies.
- Experience with travel management and the Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) Program, including processing travel orders and managing travel-related documentation.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Expertise in providing general administrative support services, including handling correspondence, awards, and records management in compliance with USMC and Joint processes.
- Ability to provide administrative support for legal and personnel issues, including managing congressional inquiries and sensitive information.
- Strong skills in records management, including maintaining accurate and organized records and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in travel management and GTCC Program administration, including processing and tracking travel orders and expenditures.
- Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.) desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS - Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS - Travel is required.
- Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance provider.
SECURITY CLEARANCE - A Secret clearance is required for this position.
