AT A GLANCE:


The General Accountant II reports directly to the Assistant Controller and is part of the Finance Department. This position is responsible for taking an active role in helping deliver the highest quality financials and support. The General Accountant must be versatile across multiple technical disciplines, be able to think on their feet, work with others in a team environment, and enjoy learning.


DAY IN THE LIFE AS THIS MEMORY MAKER:


  • Prepares journal entries through compiling and analyzing account information
  • Balance Sheet account analysis and reconciliations.
  • Assist in payroll accounting.
  • Property tax accounting and management of bills received.
  • Record and track monthly donations paid for by company
  • Recording prepaid assets and amortizing expenses.
  • Assist in Occupancy costs analysis and accruals.
  • Intangible asset accounting.
  • Recording transportation expenses and allocations.
  • Manage status and expiration of contracts within company.
  • Track capital expenditure project status and spending.
  • Assist in Fixed Asset Accounting.
  • Assist with preparing depreciation records for yearly tax returns.
  • Ad hoc analysis and other projects as required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:


  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting is required
  • 1-2 years minimum experience in an accounting office environment
  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and look-ups.
  • Self-motivated, strong problem-solving skills
  • Excel in a team environment with cross functional groups
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT:


  • Ability to work independently, as well as, in a collaborative team environment within an office setting
  • Physical requirements such as extended periods of sitting and computer use may be required
