Vaco has partnered with a global partner to build out a Cloud engineering team to identify and hire a team of GCP Engineers in the Phoenix area. Our client is centralizing their risk management data it a central platform and this team will be responsible for accessing and modeling all data to distribute to this platform. As a GCP Cloud Engineer within the Enterprise Cloud team, you will be responsible for Cloud migration and tool development while playing a key role in the enablement of end to end solutions architecture that power cloud native system design. You will partner closely with the applications teams across the organization to understand business critical, customer facing capabilities and provide first class cloud solutions that seek to address these challenges in a scalable, reusable manner. Core Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of software and infrastructure engineering experience (GCP strongly preferred)
  • Experienced within an agile team that drives cloud migrations, application onboarding, solutions, and adoption of the latest cloud-native application patterns
  • Delivering solutions that focus on application eligibility criteria, platform consumption efficiencies, and workload placements, while balancing speed and time-to-market
  • Finding opportunities for adopting new technologies
  • Collaborate with other engineers and customers to deliver these solutions and enable businesses worldwide
  • Development experience in any two programming languages - Java, JavaScript, Python, Go
  • Experience with modern datastores like Redis, Cassandra, & PostgreSQL
  • Experience in cloud native application patterns and tools, micro services architectures, application migrations to any cloud platform
  • Experience in using public cloud platform services, like Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, and Azure
  • Experience of Infrastructure, Virtualization, Containers, Network, Storage, monitoring tools, Logging analytic tools (Splunk, etc.)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions
  • Experience with Cloud technology such as OpenShift/ Kubernetes, Service Mesh, Docker, Envoy and control plane.
  • Proven experience leading teams of engineers
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn through experience.
  • Excellent collaboration in a team environment and comfortable in group based working sessions.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or computer science engineering
