GC-MS Analyst - Fragrance Industry

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a GC-MS Analyst to join a global manufacturer specialising in high-quality fragrance compounds, perfumes, and aroma ingredients used across various industries.
Due to continued growth, we're looking to expand the analytical department with a motivated individual who will support the preparation, analysis, and formulation of fragrance compositions. Please note, this is primarily a desk-based, computer-focused role.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare samples for GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) analysis
Analyse fragrance samples to identify and quantify component materials
Interpret essential oil data to determine specific oils present
Create and develop fragrance formulas based on analytical data
Perform basic maintenance on GC-MS instruments
Update and maintain essential oil databases to support analysis and formulation
Requirements:
A degree (or equivalent) in Analytical Chemistry or a related field, with a focus on GC and MS techniques
Experience operating and maintaining GC-MS systems
Proficiency in analysing GC-MS data, ideally within the context of fragrance or essential oil ingredients
Strong understanding of essential oils and their components is highly desirable
