JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for remotely monitoring all camera feeds from gate cameras and utilizing a telephone, radios, computers or speaker phone to ensure efficient gate operations and support in conjunction with other Community Watch departmental responsibilities (i.e., Dispatch, Patrol and Gate Attendants).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes, but not limited to) Gates - Utilizing a telephone or speaker phone answers all incoming calls to:
- Assist Residents and guests with questions and directions.
- Instruct drivers and bicyclists in the proper use of gate cards.
- Remotely operates gates via computer or phone as directed by supervisors or drivers as needed.
- Remotely opens staffed and un-staffed gates for residents and visitors.
- Remotely provides security for the RV lots using a computer database to verify and validate requests for entry.
- Utilize a 2-way radio when assisting drivers and/or supervisors.
- Utilize computers to manipulate camera views when necessary.
Reporting - Reports to Dispatch any accident and/or incident visually observed in viewing security screens to have occurred at a gate.
- Reports all suspicious activity and/or people observed while on shift in a timely manner to Dispatch and their Supervisor so that appropriate law enforcement may be notified.
- Views security screens and reports broken or malfunctioning gates immediately to Dispatch and Supervisors, and (remotely) manually disarm to open position if able.
- Record video evidence captured of an incident involving a gate or in the area of the gate for investigative use by officials from law enforcement, Risk Management, or District Property Management.
- Initiate an incident report any time that a gate is hit or damaged and forward the report to the Supervisor.
- Coordinates gate issues with dispatchers, drivers and Supervisors.
- Keep a log of visitors to Hickory Head Hammock.
- Call adult watch participants and update CAD.
- Conduct a status check (call) all gate attendants twice per shift.
- Verify the operation of all cameras and report status of cameras.
General - Wears an appropriate uniform as designated in department policy and procedures, specific to the position.
- Maintains within the gate operations area a clean, orderly and secure environment as required, including desk, floors, windows, etc.
- Keeps gate operations area appropriately stocked with items as the need arises so that following shifts are not left in short supply.
- Assist dispatch with answering phones.
Additional - Performs other duties as assigned.
- May be expected to perform additional duties in an emergency.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
MINIMUM CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Valid Florida Driver's License required.
- CPR and AED certification. (Training provided)
- Fire extinguisher safety training. (Training provided)
- All candidates and employees must successfully pass background screening.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge - Proficient with all required computer software/programs, (i.e., CAD system, AS400 and Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel and Outlook).
Skills - Ability to comprehend and utilize required computer software and programs.
Abilities - Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to view multiple security screens and answer telephones/speaker phones simultaneously.
- Ability to work various shifts associated with a 24/7/365 operation, including weekends, holidays, and emergency situations.
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service to our residents.
- Ability to successfully multi-task.
- Position requires attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional appearance.
EQUIPMENT Position regularly requires the use of telephones/speaker phones, various office equipment, computers, video security screens and manually operated switching and traffic control devices.
