The University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplantation are seeking an experienced BC/BE medical oncologist with specialization in gastrointestinal oncology for a growing practice. This position will be at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor, tenure, or clinical track (non-tenure track), depending on qualifications.
The Carver College of Medicine is part of a major research university and ranks 19th among public universities in NIH research funding. The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center that collaborates closely with the College and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A particular strength of the program is a growing portfolio of investigator-initiated and phase I trials including many based-on research being conducted in University of Iowa laboratories. The hospital is one of the largest university-owned teaching hospitals in the United States and is adjacent to the Iowa City Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The Division of Hematology-Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplantation has a broad mission, spanning benign and malignant hematology and solid tumor oncology. Division faculty lead more than 200 active clinical research trials at any given time for a wide range of cancers and blood disorders and operate Iowa s only FACT-accredited bone marrow transplant unit. The division provides services at University of Iowa Health Care, the Iowa City VA Medical Center, and at several regional outreach sites in southeast Iowa.
