The role primarily focuses on performingcolonoscopies in the GI lab, with additional responsibilities includinginpatient rounding, outpatient clinic work, and GI consults. The successfulcandidate will provide comprehensive care in a community hospital environment,with a manageable patient volume and a collaborative team.
The GastroenterologyPhysician will be responsible for performing colonoscopies in the GI lab for 4days a week and seeing patients in the outpatient clinic for 1 day per week.Each day will involve 8-9 hours of work, including performing 12-13 procedureson lab days and seeing around 20 patients in the clinic. In addition tooutpatient duties, the physician will provide inpatient rounding as needed. Theposition also includes covering overnight weekday call and performing EDGs andin-house consults for stable GI issues. This role offers a balance ofprocedures, clinic work, and patient management in a supportive environment.
Qualifications: - Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Illinois State Licensure (must be active).
- DEA, CSR Certification required.
- ACLS, BLS Certification.
- Experience in performing colonoscopies and managing stable GI consults.
- Ability to cover overnight weekday call and handle inpatient rounding.
