Coverage Need
- Assignment Dates: Starting June 1, 2025 - Ongoing
- Schedule:
- Onsite: Monday - Friday, 8a- 5p
- Call: Weekdays 5p - 8a; Weekends: Friday 5p - Monday 8a
- Call Type: Beeper
- Call Ratio: 1:3
- Call Response: 15 min by phone, 30 min onsite if needed
- EMR System: Athena and Cerner
- Temporary Privileges: Available for clean history

- Bowel obstruction/perforation
- Post-op GI complications
- Urgent consults (e.g., pancreatitis, liver failure)

Submissions Requirements
- Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible (within 5 years)
- Licensed in NC
- Clean history for expedited credentialing
- BLS

Skill Requirements
- Upper GI endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal, bleeder cautery, varices injection)
- ERCP diagnostic and therapeutic
- PEG placement
- Lower GI endoscopy (flexible/rigid sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy with biopsy/polyp excision)
- Esophageal dilatation, manometry & interpretation
- Small bowel biopsy
- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
- Liver biopsy
- Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube

Additional Info
- Seeking at least 3 full-time providers for 24-hour coverage
- Onsite presence during call is not required unless patient circumstances necessitate
- Callback must be documented in EHR; only onsite callbacks count toward call time
- Facility does not cover licensing or credentialing expenses
