Head Girl's Basketball Coach
Location: Gaffney High School
Pay: Supplemental

SUMMARY: Seeking a motivated Head Coach and program leader to lead the girls basketball program at Gaffney High School

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists the athletic director in selection and evaluation of assistant coaches
2. Assumes responsibility for a safe practice area
3. Develops a positive public relations program in the school and the community
4. Makes recommendations to the athletic director for purchasing equipment
5. Provides supervision in the locker rooms before and after practice
6. The coach will at all times conduct themselves in a manner that will set a good example for students to follow on and off the court
7. Develops his/her own schedule with the approval of the athletic director
8. Responsible for the performance of other related duties as assigned/required by the Athletic Director/Principal

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Prior successful assistant and/or head coaching experience at the varsity level

• Committed to building the program through authorized out-of-season workouts, Spring/Summer conditioning, and other basketball related activities

• Committed to mentoring and leading the middle school coaches and program and working effectively with the middle school administration to build a top-notch feeder program

• Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field

• Knowledge of South Carolina High School League rules and regulations

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form

• Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board policies

• Relates well with students and other high school programs to promote school and community spirit

• Employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being and work output of students and coaches

Salary:
Supplemental based on District Athletic Scale
