Student Life Ambassadors support Student Life initiatives and institutional needs at Owens Community College.
The Office of Student Life is located in College Hall Room 152 on the Toledo-area campus.
Essential Duties:
- Assist the Student Life Coordinator with planning, promoting, implementing, and generating ideas for events and activities on campus.
- Assist in the setup, facilitation, and tear-down of planned events and activities hosted by the Office of Student Life.
- In collaboration with the Student Life Manager, review and approve budget requests from Registered Student Organizations.
- Help to advance the vision, mission, goals, and overall culture of Owens Community College. Collect feedback from Students, advocate for Student needs, make suggestions for improving the overall Student experience.
- Participate in career readiness training with topics such as career and self-development, communication, critical thinking, equity and inclusion, leadership, professionalism, teamwork and technology.
- Assist the Office of Student Life's social media presence and engagement.
- Assist with the regular processes related to Better World Books (empty bins, etc.).
- Additional office-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Able to engage with other Owens Students, able to work individually and as part of a team, and demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Organized, self-motivating, flexible, dependable, punctual.
- Computer skills
- Light physical work: the ability to lift approximately 20 pounds at a time or carry objects weighing approximately 10 pounds.
Additional details:
- Owens Community College Student eligible for Student Employment.
- Must maintain a 2.5 (minimum) cumulative GPA.
- 5-10 working hours per week, during regular business hours.
- $10.70 hourly wage, paid via direct deposit every other week.
- Training is required and tentatively scheduled for the week of August 18.
