Job Description: We are building a talent pool of dynamic Business Development professionals with a strong background in clinical research, CROs, or pharmaceutical sales. This role focuses on prospecting, client engagement, and strategic sales execution to drive growth in clinical research partnerships. Responsibilities:
- Identify and cold call potential clients to establish a pipeline of target accounts.
- Research and analyze industry trends to identify strategic entry points for new business.
- Develop and maintain a prospecting game plan to maximize outreach effectiveness.
- Conduct face-to-face and virtual meetings with key decision-makers to qualify business opportunities.
- Present clinical research services effectively to win new accounts and expand existing relationships.
- Negotiate contracts, bill rates, and terms to ensure competitive and profitable agreements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
- Work closely with recruiting teams and customer support to align on client staffing needs.
- Proactively market ideal candidates to clients to drive placements.
- Develop and implement effective business development strategies across clinical segments (CRO, Sponsor, ARI).
- Participate in sales meetings, industry conferences, and networking events to expand market presence.
- Share client insights with recruiters, sales teams, and leadership to optimize strategy.
- Lead discussions in Deal Zones, Pod Meetings, and Red Zone meetings to drive sales performance.
- Work with QA/QC, finance, and accounts payable teams to address contract or vendor-related issues.
- Maintain a disciplined sales operating rhythm to meet and exceed business development targets.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and regulatory changes impacting clinical research.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business or related field.
- Preferred: Advanced degree (Master's, PhD) in business, clinical research, or a related field.
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the clinical research industry.
- Required: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience working in a business development environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within clinical research, CRO, or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to engage with decision-makers.
- Ability to prospect, cold call, and close deals in a competitive market.
- Understanding of clinical staffing, research processes, and talent acquisition in the CRO space.
- Willingness to travel for client engagements and business development meetings.
