Position summary: The
Custom Quotes and Orders Customer Service Representative role involves managing the custom furniture quoting and order entry processes, requiring a deep understanding of furniture product development and manufacturing.
Key responsibilities:Custom Quotes - Understand furniture product development and manufacturing, including specifications, capabilities, technicalities, and requirements
- Communicate promptly and accurately with sellers and customers to understand their customization needs or to request additional information in order to quote the furniture item(s) properly
- Communicate and follow up with multiple factories to obtain custom item details and pricing within a specific time frame/lead time
- Provide timely and formal custom quotes to customers and showroom and road sales representatives
- Must be proficient in Paint to visually configure and communicate ideas to customers, sellers and factories
Order Entry - Review custom furniture orders in its entirety for missing information
- Provide customers and/or sellers with diagrams, appropriate forms and/or requests for missing information
- Periodically follow up for customer approvals to ensure quick order entry.
- Data entry for furniture orders, as well as any accompanying fabric orders
- Communicate to all appropriate parties once an order has been entered in system
Abilities/Key competencies/Skills:
- Extensive furniture knowledge required
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and be a team player, as well as work independently in a fast-paced growing environment
- Proficient computer skills including Google Suite, Nitro, Electronic Folder/File organization, Paint, Oracle
- Ability to work on and complete multiple tasks simultaneously in a timely manner
- Excellent time management, organizational and follow up skills
- Ability to learn new product, procedures, processes as business needs change
- Detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience/Certifications/Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ Years in a Customer Service role
- Prior history of working in a contact center environment; remote experience preferred
- Experience working for a high-end, luxury brand retailer or hospitality / service-oriented company
- Experience in Home Furnishings and/or the Interior Design industry
- Knowledge of or experience with other 'trade only' suppliers, textiles, wall coverings, and furniture expertise is not required but considered a plus
