The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is searching for a Fundraising Manager to be a part of their National Capital Area chapter. The Fundraising Manager works closely with the Executive Director and is responsible for fundraising and volunteer engagement efforts throughout the DC and Northern VA region. The position will manage an extensive portfolio of events with a focus on peer-to-peer fundraising and corporate sponsorships.
Responsibilities: - Increase revenue through signature fundraising events within the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. area
- Plan and execute fundraising events; manage event logistics
- Cultivate corporate donors and secure sponsorships
- Teach fundraising skills to walkers and steward team captains
- Recruit, train, recognize and support volunteers
- Collaborate with Executive Director, Committees, and Chapter Board members
- Promote the organization's mission and maintain relationships with community leaders to increase event involvement
Qualifications: - Approximately 4+ of years relevant fundraising experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Peer-to-peer fundraising and volunteer management experience required
- Track record of securing 4- and 5-figure gifts
- Passionate and excited about furthering the mission of AFSP
- Willingness to travel as needed within Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., as well as for organization-wide meetings
- Driver's license and personal vehicle
- Ability to connect with people and their experiences to foster relationships
