Growth Private Equity firm seeks a Controller to oversee both fund accounting and management company accounting functions, as well as work closely with the outsourced compliance and legal teams. This is an individual contributor role reporting into the 2 Partners. Responsibilities include fund accounting for 9+ funds, management company accounting, cash management, and financial and compliance reporting.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Manager coming from a public accounting firm focused on VC & PE clients, or a Fund Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller at a VC/PE firm ready to become Controller. This role offers growth to VP Finance and then CFO as the firm continues to scale and grow. This is a remote role with periodic travel to Austin, TX.
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field of study.
- 6+ years fund accounting industry experience working at an established VC or PE firm, or from public accounting. Must have experience in fund accounting.
- Prior Big 4 experience and CPA certification.
- Management company accounting experience is a plus but is not required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
