Come join the crew at Northbound Liquor Store. The City of Elk River is seeking candidates for a fulltime Liquor Store Clerk position. The FT Liquor Store Clerk serves as a cashier and stock handler. This is a 40 hour/week position and eligible for benefits. The expected starting wage is $23.43 an hour. (2025 salary range $23.43-$31.24/hr.).

Position SummaryThe Full-time Liquor Store Clerk serves as a cashier and stock handler.
Essential Functions- Performs cashier duties.
- Rings up sales, receives payment, gives change, provides petty cash services.
- Performs miscellaneous maintenance duties to maintain a clean store and orderly merchandise appearance.
- Performs inventory management activities.
- Moves merchandise and stock, unloads deliveries, moves stock to and from the storeroom; inspects and verifies incoming stock.
- Stocks merchandise on shelves, in coolers and on displays.
- Performs other Liquor Store duties.
- Makes bank deposits.
- Prepares daily cash reports.
- Supervises Part-time Liquor Store Clerk employees in absence of Liquor Store Manager.
- Performs other essential job duties.
- Regular and timely work attendance.
- Follows all safety procedures.
- Participates in safety training.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Knowledge of state and local liquor laws.
- Skill in operating a cash register and 10-key calculator.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to quickly and accurately make change.
- Ability to communicate with the public.
- Ability to attend seminars and classes as directed.
- Ability to work a variety of hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to learn and operate computer based inventory management system.
Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent.
- One-year retail cashier experience.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
Preferred Qualifications- Municipal Liquor Store experience.

Work Schedule This is a 40 hour per week position. Hours of work will be 3 - 4 evenings (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), 2 - 3 mid-shift (10:00/11:00 a.m. to 6:00/7:00 p.m.), and Sundays as needed. Availability on holidays is also required. Employees must be flexible to work based on business needs.
